Collection Details

Brief Summary

The Flower-Sprecher Veterinary Library's immediate collection contains an internationally recognized selection of materials on veterinary medicine and animal culture. Related strengths include immunology, microbiology, parasitology, pharmacology, physiology, and human medicine.

As of June 30, 2009, the Library's collection contained:

  • Almost 100,000 bound volumes (monographs and bound journals)
  • 300 print veterinary journals, plus networked access to thousands more
  • 1500 audiovisual titles, including CDs, DVDs, slide sets, video and audio recordings

The Veterinary Library's holdings are supplemented by the extensive collections of the Cornell University Library on the Ithaca campus and Weill Cornell Medical College Library in New York City numbering in excess of six million print volumes.

As the result of cooperative licensing, library patrons also have access to literally tens of thousands of e-journals and other electronic resources, especially those on biomedical and life sciences topics.
