Baker Institute seeking Postdoctoral Associate to study innate immune responses during helminth infection
 

The Tait Wojno laboratory at the Baker Institute for Animal Health and Department of Microbiology and Immunology is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to work on the regulation of innate immune responses during helminth infection. Funded work in the Tait Wojno laboratory centers around the regulation of basophil, innate lymphoid cell, and epithelial cell responses in murine models of intestinal parasite infection and type 2 inflammation. We are seeking an individual with experience in assessing immune responses in murine models of inflammation or human disease. Experience in innate immune cell biology, epithelial cell biology, and/or helminth infection is preferred but not required. Experience in genome-wide approaches to assess transcriptional regulation (either wet lab or computationally) is strongly preferred. The successful applicant will work independently and with other members of the laboratory to make rapid progress in funded projects, take a key role in mentoring junior trainees, and be expected to contribute to the manuscript writing process. Work in the Tait Wojno laboratory aims to inform our understanding of innate immune responses during mucosal inflammation and to make impactful contributions in animal and health research. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute enthusiastically to this mission. Requirements:

Applicants must have a PhD in a related field, with demonstrated proficiency in cellular and molecular immunology OR demonstrated proficiency in genetics and computation with an interest in developing a strong skill set in immunology in the wet lab. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Applicants lacking these specific skill sets will not be considered.
