This project will develop and curate of a collection of monoclonal antibody reagents for the analysis of the feline immune system.  The goals of the project are to assemble existing and to create new monoclonal antibody secreting cells lines (hybridomas) specific for immune and inflammatory system molecules of the cat.  Antibodies in the repository would be made available upon request to interested researchers at Cornell and worldwide.  New and previously produced hybridomas would be grown in large volumes; monoclonal antibodies would be purified by FPLC; the isolated antibodies would be characterized by flow cytometry, immunohistochemistry, ELISA, or Western blots, depending upon the expected uses. New methods for preserving individual monoclonal antibodies would be developed.
